Well my fiance, Matt, and I went to go look at a place today called Venetian Terrace that we were interested in as a venue for our wedding ceremony. Let me just say that it was a letdown. It looked so pretty and big on the photos online and the owner and i had been emailing back and forth for a few weeks about information and details and I was really excited and thought that this was going to be the place. I’m pretty positive that I was wrong. When we got there there was no handicap entrance or rampway so we had to carry our son’s stroller, which he was in at the time, up and down stairs, the woman there, Mona, was palestinian so it was very hard to understand her and she kept rambling on and on about the same things over and over again. And she knew that we only wanted to have the ceremony there because to have the wedding and reception there was going to be a minimum of $5000 which we nor our family’s have plus alcohol would be on top of the $5000, not included. Well let’s just say that she was not very supportive of us only having the ceremony there, she was very bossy, very….pushy about us having both there and when I told her that I want a night wedding oh my goodness. She was not ok. She told us straight to our faces that that would be very hard to do because October is a very busy month for them and let’s say that they were to have another couple want to have their wedding and reception there on our wedding date that our night wedding would screw up all her plans because she would only be getting $750 from us and not $5000 from the other couple. I felt as if she were backing me into a corner and that she wasn’t willing to work with me. AT ALL. I mean that’s going to be my wedding day and I’m not sure…no, I know that I don’t want someone like her messing up my plans and having an attitude at my wedding, that’s supposed to be a special day. So now it’s back to looking at more wedding venues that can fit into our budget, which I don’t know how I’m going to find anything because it’s an outside Saturday night wedding in October with 120 +/- guests. I’m so stressed over trying to find a venue that I’m not enjoying myself. Someone please help me!

Hello everyone my name is Kirstin and this just so happens to be my first blog :)! So I’ll just tell you a little bit about myself- I’m 22 years old, I live in Texas, I’m’ engaged to the most amazing guy I could ever ask for (We’re getting married October 6, 2012!) so I am planning a wedding, and we also have an incredible son together, Xander who is 9 months old. I’m a stay at home mommy and 3 days out of every week I babysit my best friend’s little boy, Bentley, who is only 5 days older than my son. They are so funny and I’m constantly taking pictures of them too. I LOVE to cook, I’m always coming up with new recipes to try out or trying out other people’s recipes. Last night I made a glazed spicey honey bbq chicken made from scratch and wow was it amazing! Now I want and will make my blog about anything and everything! From fashion, to makeup, to parenting advice, and recipes I love. I hope you enjoy my blog as much as I know that I will and I will post back soon!

Spending time with my Grandmother before she passed away when I was three; getting onto to her hospital bed in our living room with her and eating candy, watching tv, playing board games, and the best was listening to Elvis Presley. I get my love for him from her <3.
